MPL Loans

As part of the MPL Cup we introduced the ability to loan players in a completely gas-less way. We know many holders are sitting on many more MPL players than they are able to manage themselves, so we wanted to enable holders to loan those players out and bring new users into the ecosystem.

MPL Loans will continue in the same manner for Head 2 Heads:

MPL Loans operate on entirely free basis within the game (although there is nothing stopping managers coming to their own side agreements!)
Loans are completely gas-less, this is possible as they are enabled by an off-chain (MPL managed) registry
Holders are able to loan individual players (tokens) to specific wallet addresses (i.e. you will need to know the wallet address of the person you want to loan to)
Tokens will be retained in the owners wallet at all times - i.e. there is no risk to your asset - and you will continue to see the tokens that you’ve loaned out in My MPL > Characters
Loaned out players will be signposted with a yellow handshake symbol 🤝, while loaned in players will be represented by a green handshake

Delegations

At the same time we also introduced wallet delegation. The security of your tokens is of utmost importance to us (and we know it is to you to!), therefore, we have enabled the ability to delegate from your vault or cold wallet to a hot wallet in order to play the game if desired. Holders can keep their assets safe in a cold wallet, while connecting a delegated hot wallet to the MPL app in order to interact and play on Mars.

We utilise delegate.cash - an on-chain registry and general standard for NFT delegations, which allows holders to delegate individual tokens or entire wallets. Given the on-chain nature of the registry, delegations will incur gas fees.

Where to find Loans and Delegations

Loans and delegations are managed via My MPL.

For individual tokens (players), you can execute an MPL Loan or a Delegation via My MPL > Characters (simply click to view the character you want to loan, and enter the address you want to loan to)
For full wallet delegation, you can execute via My MPL > Loans & delegations
Loans and delegations can be revoked at any time
